Megan Hiller (Recreation & Competitive Coach)
Megan’s gymnastics career started in recreational classes as a child at age 4 at Wilton Academy in Howell NJ. She was a competitive USAG athlete for 8 years up to level 8. Megan then got into track and field in high school where she won state titles in the high jump and pole vault. She took a break from sports in college to pursue a culinary degree. Eventually her love for athletics drew her back and she followed a coaching career path in gymnastics and high school track and field. With now 14+ years of coaching experience she has managed everything from recreational gymnastics to pre competitive programs and competition team programs. Her passion for the sport, as well as her love for working with children, shines through in every class that she coaches. Megan’s determination and drive to see all athletes’ progress through the program is evident each day!
Alexa DeRose (Recreation & Competitive Coach)
Alexa is a former 9-year National Team gymnast who loves to dance and have fun. She attended college at Indiana University Bloomington, where she studied Kinesiology and Exercise Science, however after graduation, Jersey pulled her back home. Alexa has been a Hoboken resident since 2012. She is currently an elementary school Physical Education and Health teacher in Paterson NJ, while coaching competitive gymnastics at Diamond and teaching indoor cycling classes at Prime Cycle on the side. Her passion for fitness guarantees a strenuous practice while her high-spirited personality makes it unique for each gymnasts!
Lynsie LaBell (Recreation & Competitive Coach)
Lynsie has been involved with gymnastics and cheerleading for over 25 years. Lynsie was a competitive gymnast for 10 years before transitioning to cheerleading. She pursued cheerleading at the college level while attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She cheered for Rutgers University football and basketball teams and she was also a member of the Rutgers All Girl competition cheerleading squad. After college, Lynsie pursued a career in teaching and coaching. She was the assistant gymnastics coach of the USAG&USAIGC competitive teams at Randolph Gymnastics before eventually becoming the head cheerleading coach at Lenape Valley Regional High School in Stanhope, NJ. In 2019, Lynsie accepted a new job opportunity and moved to Hoboken, NJ. Lynsie is currently an English teacher at Union Hill Middle School in Union City, NJ and a gymnastics instructor for children of all levels and ages at Diamond Gymnastics in Hoboken, NJ.
Isabella Sutton (Recreation & Pre-Team Coach)
Despite her young age, Izzy has a variety of experience in the gymnastics world, competing in JOGA and USAG programs since the early age of 6. She has qualified for national training camps directed by Olympic coaches, had experience homeschooling on a pre-Olympic track, and has been a varsity member of the gymnastics high school team since her freshman year. Izzy’s 12+ year involvement exhibits her passion for gymnastics through choreographing floor and beam routines, volunteering for the Special Olympics team of NJ and coaching at different club gyms. She has experience coaching privately, recreationally and in competitive settings at a variety of levels. Izzy is excited to demonstrate and teach a range of skills from the basics to the difficult skills, ensuring correct form through safety while creating a comfortable and trusting environment.
Tricia Maka (Recreation & Competitive Coach)
Tricia started gymnastics at 18 months old at Gymnastics World in Nutley, NJ. She later moved to Gems Gymnastics in Rockaway where she competed levels 5-9 in USGF. Tricia began coaching in 1999 where she attended Gymnastics National Congress Conventions in Ohio and California. Tricia graduated from Ramapo College with a bachelors degree in Psychology, then pursued Occupational Therapy and is now certified as an aide. Tricia has helped managed gymnastics programs and has taught all ages from preschool, novice, intermediate and advanced levels as well as competition team levels 3-7 USAG and Copper- Silver in USAIGC. Tricia is a dedicated coach and appreciates the experience of watching kids learn and grow.
Brittley Montanaro (Recreation Coach)
Brittley was a recreational gymnast for 9 years and then moved towards competitive cheerleading, of which she cheered for 12 years. She was a college cheerleader at Marist College. Brittley has been coaching gymnastics for 10+ years of which she has been with Diamond since 2017. Her enthusiasm and motivation with her athletes is evident in every class!
Amanda Soder (Recreation & Competitive Coach)
A nationally competitive gymnast from age 6, Amanda was a competitive athlete through high school at one of NJ’s top training facilities and went on to obtain an athletic scholarship to Rutgers University. Amanda has been involved with the sport of gymnastics for 20+ years and has worked with athletes ranging from preschool to high school and adult athletes. She has coached in both recreational and competitive settings, coaching athletes as high as the International Elite level. Her passion for the sport and expertise has been evident in building DG Hoboken’s program, as she helped to develop Diamond’s Recreational and Competitive Team programs. She looks forward to instilling our philosophies as we expand beyond Hoboken!
